With reference to your letter No. 4457/1916 of 29th and the enclosed copy of a telegram from the Governor of Hong Kong, I am commanded by the Army Council to state, for the information of Mr Secretary Bonar Law that there are several organizations, such as the Royal Patriotic Fund Corporation, the Officers' Families Fund, the Soldiers' and Sailors' Families Association and the Soldiers' and Sailors' Help Society, which would gratefully receive subscriptions" raised for War Relief.

2. The Federated Malay States Auxiliary Hospital at Blackmore End would, in the Council's opinion, be quite worthy of support. The arrangements for it, which are very good and thorough, have been made by Sir W. Taylor of the Malay States Agency.

3. I am to forward a list of articles of clothing etc. which is issued by the Director General of Voluntary Organizations.

4. Gifts of pipes, tobacco, mouth organs, games and similar articles are much appreciated by the troops.
